Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening during school term-time.

We rehearse at Wymondham Central Hall on Back Lane (click here for a map). Please refer to the rehearsal schedule (below).

Rehearsals start at 19:45 and finish at 21:45. We generally have ten evening rehearsals before each concert. We also have an afternoon rehearsal on the day of the concert.

Annual Open Rehearsal

Some years ago, for fun, we held an open rehearsal - anyone could come along and try out the experience of playing with a symphony orchestra. It was so successful, and so many people asked us to repeat the event, that we now hold it annually. The format is simple - one or two pieces are selected by our Musical Director, and these are given the full rehearsal treatment. The evening then ends with a play-through.

Membership

Our high artistic standards don’t prevent us from being a friendly group of musicians, always willing to accept new members in our midst. If you are of Grade VII or above, or are of the equivalent standard, we’d love to hear from you. If we don’t have an immediate vacancy, we’ll happily keep your name on file.
